I agree PP, that is a great deal of money for a Council house, considering that you'll never own it  hairy

I remember my old mum used to pay ÂŁ1 a week

Tut Tut PP

I would say that you have shown your AGE there !

It is no longer the DOLE (department of labour & Employment) but is divided into "Job seekers /income based\/supplementary benefit" then there is the additional claims for council tax, services, blah blah if you know what to claim for or are originally NOT from this country!

Cynical?    ME      NO    just a 40% TAX PAYER crybaby2

It seems a very unfair system, when it depends on "If you know what to claim for” We have 'Centerlink' in Australia and if you're unsure of what you can claim they're always available to advise

A short while back I was in between jobs (not worried) but had the advise of go and "sign on" which is to keep the Gov happy etc, so I did just that and was confronted with an impersonal phone call where ALL my details were taken and then I was told that the 'forms' would be posted to me and then I would get an appointment with a "Carree's adviser" and my claim would be accessed?
After around 16 days (due to a Bank Holiday) the appointment date arrived and I attended.  rofl
Then the fun started, I should RETRAIN I earned TOO much I want to earn HOW MUCH I should think on a more realistic level? then I could claim for me or I could claim for my wife and I but we would need to be means tested further, and any income/savings assets etc would be taken into consideration. then if I only claimed for me I could have JSA for a short period until my NI contributions "ran out?"

I know of several that have never worked and can run cars, drink in the pub every day bet on the nags and still go on foreign holidays?

ARRRGH ok rant over until next time

In California you can claim for unemployment online.  You only have to have an interview after several weeks.

the only thing the government cares about in thi s country is if your not british, then you can claim everything that is going, god forbid that you and your parents have worked all their lives and you may want something one day , you have no chance.

Are you saying that ALL the tax and revenue stolen from the British by this (and past/future) Governments is flitted away on immigrants? and if a true English (inc welsh, Irish Oh and them Scotty types) person wanted assistance then it would not be as much as that of the  Censored
