I only asked because after having a word with my bank manager, he suggested it was wise to take out an identity theft insurance at £7 per month !!
I said no way would I pay that, as I was sure as you say if you could prove you didnt spend the cash you would be ok/
He said no it ewas all put on you the account holder.
I thought he was just trying to sell me something so came away without the insurance.
I have tried looking on the internet but cant seem to get an answer that is yes or no to the question, mind you whilst looking I have also found cheaper insurance than what he wanted to sell me.
I think they have got a cheek trying to charge all that, If they were to make banks more accesible instead of closing all branches, then I wouldnt have to use cards and could pop in and get cash when I needed it,then I wouldnt need to give my details to anyone.

if i remember correctly if you get a capitol one credit card you get identify theft support. it covers all your cards and you don't need to use the card. just have one.
i am remembering this from awhile back, so check

Barclaycard are good also, last year I had someone use my credit card details to top up their tmobile phone.
B/c called to check, as they thought the £80 spent was a high amount, and something I`ve never done,.
Specially as haven`t used the credit card for over 2 years.
