hi everyone I have started a petition on the above government site and hope you will sign it and ask freinds to do so to.

BOWEL CANCER IS ONE OF THE MOST EASILY CURED CANCERS IF CAUGHT EARLY.

bowel cancer is one of the cancers that if caught early has a great record of cure. In england the age for screening is 60 to 69 years. In scotland it is 50 to 74 years. In wales it is also 50 to 74 years. As englands screening age is 10 years later than scotland and wales hundreds of lives could be lost. As all these screenings are nhs why is england different from scotland and wales.? I propose screening age to be lowered in england to 50 years. Please sign this lifesaving petition thankyou.

This subject is close to my heart as I have lost two grandparents, and my mum to this disease. They say that with this kind of cancer embarrasment holds a lot of people back from going to the doctor, please  never be too embarassed to go to your gp if you notice any changes in your bowel habits, I have had every test imaginable and can assure you it is not embarrasing at all . Early detection saves lives.

I've signed it too Dreamer

I have a Bowel Cancer check every year.  The kits are sold over here by the Rotary Club and you test yourself in the privacy of your own home, and when you're finished you put the sample pack in a receptacle at any chemist

That is a good idea gerry, I have seen these packs on the internet. I personally think everyone should have a full medical every year if possible,.

Thanks to everyone who signs.

I signed too.  The recommended age for a checkup colonoscopy here is 50 and then every 5 years.  I don't think there's anything you can use at home.
