I have just finished two books which were a good read. one set in the 1930's and one in the 1920's. I enjoyed especially the one that started in the 30's as the writer described everything so well, that has time progressed in the book, it was like reliving going to my nannas many years ago, like stepping back in timeand gave me an insight as to what life was like then, I found it very interesting. I have now started a second book by the same author.
The book was called SKINNY LIZZY by Elizabeth Waite.
The other book I read was a very nice story about a young girl whos father dies and she is devastated, then it goes through the whole of her life, the book grips you and you cant put it down , there are so manydifferent turns in her life it is well worth a read . On the front of the book it says it is "an absorbing tale of adventure and true love " and I think that describes it fully.
It is called THE NARROWBOAT GIRL by Anne Murray.
If you see these books do give them a read they are the kind of books you can read on a sunny afternoon, enjoy. Halo
